The Hawaiian Islands are the most isolated island chain on the planet. As a result the people there are very dependent on the resources they have at hand. They are also incredibly respectful and reverent to the gifts that nature gives them. Everything is viewed as having its own energy, plants, animals, the land and even the waters both river and sea. This practice of acceptance and respect for all things has been called the spirit of Aloha.
